Obituary - Tissa Kappagoda.
Photo taken in 1960
Tissa Kappagoda - 1960 entrants batch. Passed away on the 28th January 2015. Request from family not to disturb them till they come to terms with their loss.
Dr. Kappagoda, Tissa to his friends, was my colleague at University of California Davis. He was an intellectual phenomenon, research scholar and a true gentleman. Low key, always smiling, never complained. Expert Cardiologist, especially Exercise physiology, very popular. Bore his illness with aplomb. Very supportive of his 2 daughters. His wife (originally British) stood by him. He was proud of Sri Lanka and Buddhism. He and I, cricket fans, discussed the accomplishments of the Sri Lankan Cricket Team. His daughter Shanti was admitted to Medical School while I was a member of the Admissions Committee. He was very pleased and proud. Shanti is a scholar in her own right. God bless Tissa's soul and continue his blessings to his family. Amen!
